Masters Reykjavík details emerge
Riot Games has published further details in relation to the first international LAN for VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - Masters Reykjavík starting on the 24th of May. The event will consist of a 10 teams double elimination bracket which includes 2 Play-in matches meaning that 4 teams will be playing an extra match from the rest. The seeding draw was done as follows:
Draw 1:
- 1st NA (Sentinels)
- 1st EMEA (Team Liquid)
Draw 2:
- 2nd NA
- 2nd EMEA
- 1st Brazil
- 2nd Brazil
- Korea
- LATAM
- Japan
- SEA
The rulebook also included the final prize pool of the event which will amount to $600,000 USD distributed as follows:
- 1st - $200,000
- 2nd - $100,000
- 3rd - $80,000
- 4th - $60,000
- 5th-6th - $40,000 (each team)
- 7th-8th - $25,000 (each team)
- 9th-10th - $15,000 (each team)
While the official schedule has not been released yet, the rulebook mentions also a general overview of when the matches will be played. All games will be played in a best of 3 except the Grand Final which will be a best of 5.
- Day 1 - Monday 24th May 2021
- 3 matches: Fnatic vs KRU Esports, Version1 vs Crazy Racoon and 1 from Upper Round 1
- Day 2 - Tuesday 25th May 2021
- 3 matches from Upper Round 1
- Day 3 - Wednesday 26th May 2021
- 3 matches: 2 from Lower Round 1 and one semi final from Upper Bracket
- Day 4 - Thursday 27th May 2021
- 3 matches: 2nd semi final from Upper Bracket and 2 matches from Lower Round 2
- Day 5 - Friday 28th May 2021
- 3 matches: 2 matches from Lower Round 3 and Upper Bracket Final
- Day 6 - Saturday 29th May 2021
- 2 matches: Lower Bracket Semi Final and Lower Bracket Final
- Day 7 - Sunday 30th May 2021
- Grand Final
