It is safe to say that eventually we are going to see all top tier esports organizations join the VALORANT competitive scene, whether investing early on like G2 Esports’s CEO, Carlos “ocelote” Rodriguez, or waiting till early next year to make up your mind like FNATIC. Well, we are getting another high profile name in the North American scene, as Luminosity Gaming have signed the MIXUP VALORANT roster.

The team boasts talented players to say the least, namely Charles "Hoppin" Clapper, Alex "aproto" Protopapas, Lucas "fiziq" Blow, Brenden "stellar" McGrath, and Brady "thief" Dever. They have participated in several tournaments together so far, coming out with a few respectable finishes and strong performances even in their losses. MIXUP finished 2nd in the Nerd Street Gamers x FaZe Clan Qualifier #1, before placing 13th-16th in the main tournament, FaZe Clan VALORANT Invitational. Prior to that, they had finished 9th-12th in both the PAX Arena VALORANT Invitational and T1 x NSG Showdown, alongside a 7th-8th placement in the CashApp Gamers for Equality VALORANT.

The new Luminosity Gaming roster are all former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players, transitioning their title winning experience to Riot Games’ VALORANT. Alex “aproto” Protopapas won the Strong Legs Cup #2, the Cougar Washington D.C. Open 2018 with Vision Gaming, and the ESEA Season 33: Advanced Division North America during his time with Buffdaddy's Paypal Team. As for Lucas “fiziq” Blow, he came out victorious from the eFire Master League North America Season 2 competition, while finishing 10th in the ESEA MDL Season 34 North America and 7-8th the season prior.

Brenden “stellar” McGrath is arguably the most decorated of the bunch, coming 2nd in the eFire Master League Season 1: North America then winning it the following season playing for Alcoholics Anonymous. He placed 2nd as well in the NCS Grand Finals 2019 @ Fragadelphia 14 under Team Divine, in addition to 3rd and 4th finishes in a number of tournaments, including NSG Eastern Conference Championship 2018 and ESEA Season 29: Premier Division North America.

Moving on to Charles “Hoppin” Clapper, who finished 5th-8th in the ESEA Main Season 27 North America. Last but not least, Brady “thi9f” Dever was a former FaZe Clan Counter-Strike: Global Offensive content creator. The roster is already registered for the upcoming Knights Invitational Gauntlet Series, potentially playing against the likes of T1, TSM, and Cloud9. All of them are tests for the caliber of the team, which definitely has tons of potential.
