Launch of VALORANT Data Portal hints towards a potential VOD replay system
VALORANT's esports scene has experienced impressive growth in just a few short years, creating a pressing need for a centralized portal to provide valuable data players, matches, and more. In response to this demand, Riot has teamed up with GRID to develop the VALORANT Data Portal (VDP), which serves as the official platform for all in-game VALORANT data.
GRID to give access to detailed statistics and VODs
Riot is focused on providing teams with an automated platform through VDP, giving them access to detailed data from official esports matches as well as their own private scrims. The VDP's user-friendly interface is thoughtfully designed to streamline the process of analyzing data for match analysis, scrim reviews, and talent evaluation, making it more efficient and accessible for professional teams to plan their practices. Early glimpses of the VDP's interface indicate that users will be able to download replay files - a highly anticipated and much-requested feature in the VALORANT community.
Collaborating with Riot on this groundbreaking project is GRID, a reputable software development company known for its expertise in data management and asset distribution solutions within the esports industry. VDP will be a revolutionary introduction to the FPS space, reflecting Riot's commitment to expanding its growth in the esports industry.
“We are excited to be working with GRID on crafting the future of esports data for the VALORANT Champions Tour. GRID as a partner is highly aligned with our goals around data accessibility and Riot’s core values,” John Knauss, Lead of Competitive Data Programs for Esports at Riot Games, expressed his enthusiasm for the program. “The VALORANT Data Portal is the first step in our shared vision for how we make official VALORANT data more broadly available, starting with our professional teams.”
For now, VDP will only be rolled out to the 30 partnered VCT teams with access for the broader VALORANT esports community scheduled for a later release.
