LATEKS joins Rix.GG as IGL
Rix.GG Thunder’s participation in the VALORANT scene has been relatively unstable, announcing their entrance through signing the ROYALS roster back in July 2020 and then releasing them towards the end of the year. However, they always kept their intentions to become part of the tactical shooter’s competitive ecosystem.
Their latest announcement revealed the joining of former SKADE member, Oliwer "LATEKS" Fahlander, as Rix.GG’s VALORANT IGL. The Swedish player has been very impactful with his teams during his Overwatch career, leading to lifting the trophy in all of the DreamHack Winter 2018 BYOC, Insomnia62 Overwatch Open, and King of Nordic: BirdieLAN 27.
During his VALORANT career, he represented FABRIKEN before being picked up by SKADE. We managed to interview LATEKS back in October, and his opinions on the state of the competitive scene, compositions, and his transition to VALORANT showed his ability to become an influential member of any roster. He already won the Rise of Titans competition, alongside 2nd place finishes in the Wave Esports Invitational Cup - S1, the Take The Throne #8, and 3rd-4th in the Valorant Challenge 2.
However, SKADE didn’t manage to make it into the First Strike Europe Regional Final after falling short in the Open and Closed Qualifiers. The closest they got was reaching the First Strike Europe: Qualifier #1 Playoff/Play-In after finishing in the top 16 of the First Strike Europe: Open Qualifier B . Considering the importance of his role at Rix.GG as an In-Game Leader, it will definitely be interesting to see how he fares.
The Rix.GG VALORANT roster so far is:
