KRÜ Esports enter VALORANT with ex-Estral members
Latin American organization KRÜ Esports are perhaps best compared to Guild Esports. KRÜ have their own sports star backing them, Manchester City’s Sergio Agüero, and have already gained some pretty big fame despite not yet being in many games. And now, like Guild, KRÜ are investing in the VALORANT space by picking up a promising LATAM squad.
KRÜ have signed Juan Pablo "NagZet" Lopez, Roberto "akz" Videla, Roberto "Mazino" Rivas, Leonardo "Leobas" Basauri, and Nicolas "Klaus" Ferrari to their roster, as well as Rodrigo “Onur” Dalmagro and Martin “BeTony” Bourre as coaches. The players have mixed competitive backgrounds - Leobas comes from Fortnite, Klaus from Overwatch, and akz from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, while Mazino has no previous competitive experience. In VALORANT, things are much the same, as some players have been very successful and some are just starting.
NagZ and coach Onur come from Estral Esports, the most successful roster in LATAM South. With Estral, they won the First Strike LATAM South Regional Final. Klaus and akz played on LBS and Undead Gaming respectively; while not having a ton of games on their belt, it’s certainly something. Leobas played with a mix team, trying unsuccessfully to qualify for First Strike, while Mazino has not yet gotten into the competitive VALORANT space.
KRÜ seem to have put a decent roster together, and will be aiming as high as they can in the LATAM region. Perhaps, if things work out very well, we’ll see them make an appearance at a Masters event or even better later this year.
KRÜ Esports are:
