Knights Arena VALORAMPAGE Main Event Viewers Guide
Although we are still a week away from VCT 2022 - North America - Stage 1 - Open Qualifier 1, North America’s inaugural VCT tournament, the community will not have to wait that long to witness intense Valorant action since Knights Arena VALORAMPAGE - Main Event is set to begin in a few hours. Here is a brief guide to get you up to date on the schedule, prize pool, and format of the upcoming tournament.
Schedule:
Group Stages - 20th January
- 5:00 PM EST - Upper Round 1
- 6:00PM EST - Upper Decider / Lower Round 1
- 7:00 PM EST - Lower Decider
Playoffs – 21st January
- 5:00 PM EST: Round of 16
- 7:00 PM EST: Quarter Finals
Playoffs – 22nd January
- 5:00 PM EST: Semi-Finals 1
- 7:00 PM EST: Semi-Finals 2
Playoffs – 23rd January
- 5:00 PM EST: Grand Final
Prize Pool:
The tournament has a cumulative prize pool of $25,000, which will be divided amongst the top 4 teams accordingly:
- 1st: $12,500
- 2nd: $7,500
- 3rd: $2,500
- 4th: $2,500
Format:
The tournament will feature a total of 32 teams, 16 of which have been invited and 16 made it out of the qualifiers held last weekend. You can find out the names of all qualified teams and the matches they will compete in on this page. It will be divided as follows:
Group Stage:
The 32 participating teams will be divided into eight groups of 4 apiece. Moreover, this stage of the tournament will follow GSL Format - Double Elimination Bracket with Upper Round 1, Lower Round 1, and Winners Match following a best-of-one format with subsequent games until Lower Decider being best-of-three. From the four teams in each group, only the top 2 teams will advance.
Playoffs:
A total of 16 teams will make the playoffs to participate in a Single Elimination bracket with all games structured in a Best of Three format until the Grand Finals, which will be Best of Five.
Players to watch:
The way qualifiers played out served as a trailer to the hype, excitement, and ferocity the main event will feature, especially with 16 top-tier teams joining the battle. In the qualifier tournament, some players had a significant impact with their precise aim and strong utility usage. Here are two names, in particular, that stand out:
Although the team had to settle for 5th-8th place in the tournament, Francis "OXY" Hoang finished the event with a spectacular rating of 1.58, 325 ACS, and 1.67 K/D ratios.
David "sogo" Hoxha also scored highest for team ValorsGG with a 1.37 Rating, 287.30 ACS & 1.36 K/D and managed to qualify in 9th-16th place.
Amongst the invited teams, Cloud9 Blue possesses incredible firepower, especially Nathan "leaf" Orf, who was the third highest-rated player at VCT 2021 - VALORANT Champions 2021 with a 1.24 rating and 263 ACS.
