100 Thieves’s former head coach Jovanni "Jovi" Vera announced that he will be travelling to Iceland for VCT 2022 - Stage 1 - Masters Reykjavík to assist Chet "Chet" Singh and the OpTic Gaming roster in their tournament run.

Less than a couple weeks ago, 100 Thieves announced a few more changes to their Valorant roster. However, these changes revolved around the team’s staff instead of the roster composition itself bringing on Daniel "ddk" Kapadia as the new general manager, Sean "seangares" Gares as head coach and Michael "Mikes" Hockom on the assistant coach role. With this change, they parted ways with Jovi allowing him to explore other opportunities.

Jovi was initially signed to 100 Thieves as an Analyst and remained in that position for almost a year before taking on the Head Coach role, which was left unfilled following the departure of Hector “FrosT” Rosario from the team since November after their loss at VCT 2021 - Stage 3 - Masters Berlin - Group Stage. His promotion to the Head Coach role was announced alongside the introduction of Adam "ec1s" Eccles and Hunter "BabyJ" Schline to finalize the roster for the upcoming VCT season.

Given 100 Thieves’ performance in VCT 2021 and 4th ranking in the NA region according to circuit points, they were given a direct invite to VCT 2022 - North America - Stage 1 - Main Event. While this meant that they wouldn’t need to worry about qualifying, it presented a downside in terms of testing out their revamped roster. So, when the Main Event commenced, 100 Thieves had the misfortune of encountering one loss after the other forcing the organization to part ways with the newly signed players, and loaning Sean "bang" Bezerra and Noah "jcStani" Smith.

However, the new roster couldn’t live up to its expectations either and the team ended their tournament run with one win and four losses eliminating them from Playoff contention and diffusing their chances of earning a spot at VCT 2022 - Stage 1 - Masters Reykjavík. The loss at VCT 2022 - North America - Stage 1 - Main Event became responsible for the roster changes that followed including the Jovi’s departure from the team. On the other hand, OpTic Gaming, whom Jovi will be assisting at the upcoming Masters had a fascinating run at Challengers Main Event, at least in the Playoffs, with back-to-back victories amongst some of the best teams in the region. Unfortunately, The Guard were able to get the better of them in the Grand Finals and take the title to themselves.

With this announcement, OpTic Gaming's roster is as follows:

Canada Pujan "FNS" Mehta United States Austin "crashies" Roberts United States Victor "Victor" Wong United States Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker Canada Jimmy "Marved" Nguyen

United States Chet "Chet" Singh (Head Coach) United States Jovanni "Jovi" Vera (Assistant Coach)
