Immortals part ways with jmoh and neptune
Immortals revealed the signing of Jason "jmoh" Mohandessi and Jason "neptune" Tran back in mid-October, and they are now leaving the team. They were part of the organization’s rebuilding process of their VALORANT roster, following the transfer of some of their players to 100 Thieves and NRG. Ultimately, it seems Immortals decided to go through another phase of changes in preparation for the upcoming VALORANT Champions Tour season starting towards the end of January. It was somewhat inevitable considering they allowed jmoh to look for opportunities earlier in December.
Both players have backgrounds in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. jmoh never really made it past the ESEA/Mountain Dew League level, while neptune spent several years with Ghost Gaming and won several tournaments throughout his career. Some of these titles include the Fragadelphia 9, Fragadelphia 13, NSG Eastern Conference Championship 2018, and finishing 7th-8th in the ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals.
As for their VALORANT career, neptune had competed in a number of tournaments prior to joining Immortals. He placed 2nd in the GFUEL Energy Games, 3rd in the Nerd Street Gamers - Monthly August, and 3rd-4th in the PULSE Series. On the other hand, jmoh was picked up rather quickly to the Immortals squad, following only a 4th place finish in the MSI Gaming Arena Summer Finals and 9th-12th in the PULSE Series.
Their career together at Immortals proved rather fruitful, making it to the First Strike North America Regional Final after proving themselves and finishing top 4 in both the First Strike North America UMG Open Qualifier #1 and the First Strike North America - UMG Closed Qualifier. At the main event, they only made it amongst the last 8 teams in the competition. Other achievements include 2nd place in the Renegades x NSG VALORANT Invitational and 9th-16th in the Pittsburgh Knights Before Christmas.
There is no doubt neptune made a name for himself playing Cypher and excelling at utilizing his kit to hold down entire sites on his own. Not only that, he never goes down without a fight, averaging a 1.03 K/D. jmoh proved to be more inconsistent, but still managed some big games and a 118.9 ADR.
