After not qualifying for closed qualifiers during Stage 2 of Challengers 2, Gen.G Esports have made a move regarding their VALORANT roster, removing Danny "HUYNH" Huynh effective immediately. He is still under contract with the team while being allowed to trial with other teams.

As part of the original Gen.G roster that was signed during the Beta days of the game, he will be the latest member released, after Kenneth "koosta" Suen replaced Keven "PLAYER1" Champagne back in late December. This move does come as sort of a shock, as the team had been having their best results as of late. During Masters 1, they made it all the way to the lower bracket final where they would lose to eventual 2nd place finisher FaZe Clan. In the latest qualifiers, Gen.G would fall to TSM in the quarterfinals.

Primarily a Jett Op main during his career in VALORANT, it will be interesting to see where Huynh finds a home, as the meta is slowly moving away from the duelist. According to his tweet, he can also play the Sova during competitive play, something we have not seen him on with Gen.G since last summer. With the next major event being months away, Huynh and Gen.G have plenty of time to find a new home for one of their star players.

Gen.G will now field Canada Anthony "gMd" Guimond Canada Michael "MkaeL" De Luca United States Shawn "Shawn" O'Riley United States Kenneth "Koosta" Suen

    Canada Danny "HUYNH" Huynh (benched)
