The VCT 2025 - Pacific Stage 1 is right might be just around the corner, but Gen.G Esports is still busy making some changes to their starting VALORANT roster. The team has officially signed on Seo "Suggest" Jae-young to the roster, bringing their total player count for Stage One to six.

Multiple roster moves

The team recently announced that it was promoting Ha "Ash" Hyun-cheol from its Academy team to replace Chae "yoman" Young-mun only four months after bringing him in. Yoman struggled to adjust his playstyle to Gen.G's, and as a result, he was dropped. Meanwhile, Suggest will be coming in after having played a majority of the last few years on DetonatioN FocusMe. During his time with the organization, he attended VCT 2023 - LOCK//IN and played in the VCT 2023 - Pacific League, where he had the fourth highest average damage per round of any player, had a 218 ACS, and a 1.01 KDA.

There are plenty of expectations set on these newcomers' shoulders, since Gen.G hasn't seen much success this year so far. The team finished in third place after falling to T1 in the VCT 2025 - Pacific Kickoff, and wasn't able to attend VCT 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025. With Ash and Suggest coming to add some variety to a roster hunting for some kind of cohesion, they'll need to step up alongside their superstar teammates, if they wish to help elevate Gen.G to familiar heights.

A roster like Gen.G's shouldn't accept anything less than qualifying for VCT 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025, since there's far too much talent and firepower on this lineup to not succeed. Ash and Suggest will need to provide some great support to help set up Gen.G's superstar duelist Kim "t3xture" Na-ra.
