G2 Esports sign female VALORANT roster to make G2 Gozen
G2 Esports have announced the acquisition of their first female VALORANT roster G2 Gozen. The lineup had previously played for XSET Female for the majority of the year and as The Originals during VCT GC 2021 - EMEA S1 before the move earlier today.
G2 Gozen features Julia "juliano" Kiran, Petra "Petra" Stoker, Michaela "mimi" Lintrup, Zainab "zAAz" Turkie, and Anja "aNNja" Vasalic. The initial four-player core has its roots in CS:GO, where they were one of the premier female teams under multiple organizations since 2017 and during which Petra was able to establish her dominance and name in the European scene.
They transitioned to VALORANT in September this year, playing as The Originals, an unsigned lineup with a new fifth player in aNNja. aNNja herself was a powerhouse in the region, playing on Rix.GG Lightning until August while boasting a 1.44 rating and 289 ACS. The squad shined at Game Changers EMEA S1, pushing their way to a 3rd-4th spot where they were beaten by to-be champions TENSTAR Nova.
The European mix should make its next foray into competition at EMEA Game Changers 2 starting October 25th and it will be interesting to see if they can build on their previous successes under a new organization.
G2 Gozen are:
