FUT outclasses T1, EG secures the win against FPX, and DRX secures a playoff spot win over NAVI.
With the opening day excitement still fresh in our minds, the second day of VCT 2023 - Champions brings even more thrills and surprises to the VALORANT community.
We had the following clashes during the day:
FUT Esports vs. T1
FUT displayed their superiority over T1 after two one-sided maps, encountering no challenges on their path to victory. With an impressive 13-4 score on Pearl and a commanding 13-7 score on Haven, the Turkish team, led by an amazing showcase of skills by Doğukan "qRaxs" Balaban, with a rating of 1.44, delivered a spectacular performance, leaving the Korean pack in the dust.
Evil Geniuses vs. FunPlus Phoenix
During the second game of the day, the Evil Geniuses found themselves in a tougher battle against the Chinese contenders. Despite the challenge, the seed #1 of the Americas managed to secure the win with two 13-8 maps on Ascent and Pearl. The team owed their victory to the exceptional performance of their Controller, Alexander "jawgemo" Mor, who boasted an impressive rating of 1.40.
Natus Vincere vs. DRX
As a grand finale and a treat for the fans, NAVI and DRX delivered an exhilarating showdown. The match unfolded with three closely contested maps and two intense overtimes, keeping everyone at the edge of their seats. Both teams fought valiantly until the last bullet, but it was the Korean duo's Kim "stax" Gu-taek and Yu "BuZz" Byung-chul unbearable performance, each boasting a rating of 1.07, that ultimately secured DRX's victory and their spot in the Playoffs.
