EXCEL reveal full roster
After originally entering the VALORANT scene earlier in March with the signing of David "davidp" Prins, EXCEL have finalized their roster ahead of the beginning of VCT Stage 2.
The four players filling out the roster will be Morgan "B1GGY" Madour, Vincent "Happy" Cervoni, Marc "Maru" Begley, and Alend "Ale" Khalaf. Ale will be a really big name for this team - coming over as duelist for HSDIRR, EXCEL will hope he can be the next Yaroslav "Jady" Nikolaev. Happy, of course, is well known to both CS:GO and VALORANT fans: in VALORANT, he’s coming off an unsuccessful period with GIANTX. B1GGY and honeybee may be less well-known - the former has played on many mixed teams, while the latter qualified for First Strike with the Purple Cobras roster.
EXCEL have also revealed their coaching staff. Ex-Fnatic and North CS:GO coach Jimmy “Jumpy” Berndtsson will be heading up this area, with former Purple Cobras and Unsigned coach Sam “Fields” Greenfield as the assistant.
“We are really excited to present our full VALORANT roster and start competing against the best teams the scene has to offer. When selecting the final line-up we really took our time to find players and coaches who really understood our vision. We are in this for the long term and I truly believe we have created something special. Our ambitions for this year are limitless and I can’t wait to start this journey and experience it alongside our players, partners and community,” said Kieran Holmes-Darby, Co-Founder & Chief Gaming Officer at EXCEL, in the official announcement.
EXCEL are certainly a roster with potential. If everything comes together, this team could challenge at the top of Europe. It’s just reaching that potential, and avoiding early stumbling blocks, that could get in their way.
EXCEL are:
David “davidp” Prins Morgan “B1GGY” Madour Vincent “Happy” Cervoni Marc “honeybee” Begley Alend “Ale” Khalaf
Jimmy “Jumpy” Berdtsson (Head coach) Sam “Fields” Greenfield (Assistant coach)
