EXCEL begin VALORANT roster with Davidp as captain
Slowly, we are starting more and more prominent esports organizations entering the VALORANT competitive scene, with the likes of Fnatic and Team Vitality as recent examples. The latest to join them is going to be EXCEL. The British team, founded in 2014 with teams in Fortnite and League of Legends, has begun to pick up a VALORANT team.
David "davidp" Prins has joined EXCEL as the highlight and captain of the roster. He’s coming off a tremendous run with G2 Esports where they dominated Europe during the Ignition Series, but failed to win the First Strike Europe Regional Final after falling to eventual champions Team Heretics. The Belgian player has the G2 Esports Invitational, the The Vitality European Open , the WePlay! VALORANT Invitational, the Mandatory.GG Cup, the LVL VALORANT Clash 2, the BLAST Valorant Twitch Invitational, and the Allied Esports Odyssey titles under his belt.
The move was originally reported in mid-February by Spanish outfit Esportsmaniacos, who also had Harry "DPS" MacGill, Morgan "B1GGY" Madour, Danila "Sunset" Soloviov, and Oscar "ozzy" Scott joining the organization. With DPS announcing his retirement from VALORANT a few weeks ago, at least some of that will be incorrect.
