Ethan swaps from CS:GO to join 100 Thieves
100 Thieves have announced a surprising move today. Ethan "Ethan" Arnold has joined the team.
Ethan has played Counter-Strike: Global Offensive at the professional level since 2016. He’s competed on multiple large organizations, including CLG and NRG, but most recently represented Evil Geniuses. He helped that team to a win in StarSeries and i-League Season 8 and a top-level finish in ESL Pro League Season 10 Americas, before Counter-Strike moved entirely online due to COVID-19. During this time, he’s brought EG a win at BLAST Premier Spring 2020 Americas, cs_summit 6 North America, and ESL One: Cologne 2020 North America.
While nothing has been made totally official, many hints have been dropped that Quan "dicey" Tran will be the one replaced. Though his performances picked up over the last few months, being one of their top performers in VCT 2021 - Stage 1 - North America - Challengers 2, it seems it was still not enough.
What role Ethan will be taking up is unknown. dicey’s departure does leave the team in need of a Jett/Operator player if that is the way they want to keep going.
100 Thieves are now:
Spencer “Hiko” Martin Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella Joshua “steel” Nissan Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk Ethan “Ethan” Arnold
Quan “dicey” Tran (Benched)
Hector “FrosT” Rosario (Coach)
