Cloud9 White Announces Disband
Cloud9 White, the women's team for the popular franchise, Cloud9, has been officially disbanded. This is surprising after their top-four finish in the recent Game Changers tournament, where they established their dominance as one of the most prominent NA teams in female esports. This is also the first international Game Changers tournament they partaked in, a tournament that has promoted women's involvement in Valorant Esports.
The Team dominated the NA Game Changers main event, winning all their matches and taking the NA spot for the Game Changers Championship. They beat KRU Fem in the quarterfinals before being edged out of the upper bracket by G2 Gozen. They then went on to face Guild X in the lower bracket, which they won 2-1.
Their dreams of a final were cut short by Shopify Rebellion GC, who beat them 2-1 in the lower bracket semi-finals. This was still impressive, with them netting $50,000 in prize money for finishing 4th in the tournament. Although they didn't win, they were able to put their mark on the tournament, establishing themselves as a top roster.
Jasmine "Jazzyk1ns" Manankil, one of the disbanded members, uploaded a heartfelt twit longer with messages appreciating the organization for giving her and her teammates a chance to represent them. Cloud9, however, is yet to officially talk about why they let the roster go.
Melanie "meL" Capone has also spoken in a little more detail about the roster. In her twit longer, she claims their contract had run its course, and they decided to explore new opportunities. She also cleared the air for the team by mentioning that the disbandment of the team was a mutual agreement. This aside, MeL has been rumoured to have signed with Neverdone, another NA Valorant team.
Before they disbanded, the complete Cloud9 White Roster was:
