Cloud9 Korea part ways with Try, DoYa, and Moothie
Cloud9 picked up a Korean VALORANT roster back in August, featuring stars from Overwatch and Apex Legends. Since then, Cloud9 Korea’s roster placed 4th in the Huya Summer Festival, 3rd-4th in the Clan Battle Act 2 #2, 4th in the A.W EXTREME MASTERS ASIA INVITATIONAL, and most recently placed 2nd in the Clan Battle Act 2 #3 after a very close best-of-3 series against DRX.
The organization felt there are some changes to be made to bring the roster’s expected results to a similar level of their original roster. Cloud9 decided to part ways with Kim "DoYa" Do-gyeong, Yoo "Moothie" Seung-woo, and Kang "Try" Tae-wook. However, it is worth noting that Yu "BuZz" Byung-chul, Son "xeta" Seon-ho, and Lee "HATE" Ye-hun were all recruited to fill the vacant spots. Considering Xeta is one of the most promising Korean Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players, having won the Cobx Masters Phase 2 and eXTREMESLAND ZOWIE Asia CS:GO 2018, his switch to VALORANT is without a doubt an exciting situation.
During their tenure with Cloud9 Korea, DoYa averaged 115 ACS, contributing 0.4 KPR and 81.6 ADR. Moothie was probably the most impressive out of the trio, averaging 192 ACS throughout his career, with 0.66 KPR and 123.1 ADR. As for Try, his agent pool is rather limited, playing exclusively Breach the last 11 competitive matches. He averaged 180 ACS and 0.66 KPR during his time with the roster.
Cloud9 Korea are currently competing in the APE VALORANT Battle, facing off against NUTURN in the tournament’s semi-final. Will the current stand-ins prove themselves enough to become an official part of the team?
The current official Cloud9 Korean VALORANT roster is:
Jun-Ki “Bazzi" Park Sang-beom “Munchkin” Byeon
Euteum “Autumn” Yoon (coach)
