Proceedings commenced on Ascent and Cloud9 were eager to redeem themselves after a considerably poor performance during VCT 2022 - North America - Stage 2 - Main Event. They demonstrated their intent to win from the get-go by embarking on an early four round streak. Before they could make the damage any worse, the Shopify Rebellion roster, previously playing under Luminosity Gaming banner retaliated with four rounds of their own. Following their outburst, Cloud9 took a couple of rounds and then Shopify repeated the same.

Being tied at 6 apiece provided both teams with an equal opportunity to take charge in the second half, but only one team prevailed, and it was the more experienced Cloud9. Nonetheless, their run wasn’t a mere walk in the park as Shopify tried their hardest to stop Cloud9 in their tracks. Their desperate attempts were rendered futile courtesy of Vanity who finished the Offensive half with 2.24 Rating on 407 ACS and 3.2 KD including a mind-blowing 4K in round 19.

After Cloud9 closed Ascent with a 13-10 final score, both teams took respective positions on Fracture. Shopify realized that a Lower Bracket run would make qualification to VCT 2022 - Champions Istanbul more difficult and in order to avoid such an outcome, they left the gates a different team. After an easy pistol, they couldn’t capitalize on the second one but then forged a four round streak to post an early 5-1 lead. Cloud9 then retaliated with force but couldn’t managed more than 5 rounds before halftime. When sides switched and Cloud9 were on Attack, the efforts Shopify had exerted in the first half were unwound.

Cloud9 started with a Pistol round to their name and used that momentum to propel them to further three rounds before Shopify pulled three consecutive defuses. Shopify was once again in the lead, but not for long as Erick "Xeppaa" Bach executed a crucial 4K to shift momentum in their favor once again. Cloud9 approached game point by round 22 and just when the Series seemed over, Shopify somehow took the last two rounds to force Overtime reviving their hopes for a potential comeback.

One overtime after the other was subject to indecisiveness as neither team could take two consecutive rounds until the 32nd round. In the 4th Overtime, Vanity’s 3K helped the team to an early Defuse on defense. It seemed that Shopify were crumbling under the pressure and the timeline of the next round corroborates this statement as Cloud9 executed an almost flawless round to close out the map and book a spot in round 2 of Upper Brackets against The Guard.
