blaZek1ng joins Global Esports
Global Esports announced the signing of Gary "blaZek1ng" Dastin, a 27-year-old veteran player who shined at BOOM Esports.
blaZek1ng is now officially part of Global Esports for the upcoming season, making him the fourth player to join the squad. This is his first team change since BOOM Esports took over the Boys With Love crew back in 2020. In his new adventure with Global Esports, blaZek1ng will be teaming up with some familiar faces, including former Paper Rex player Benedict "Benkai" Tan, former Guild Esports player Russel "Russ" Mendes, and Abhirup "Lightningfast" Choudhury, who's sticking around for the next season.
blaZek1ng has been a key player for BOOM Esports since 2020 and is a prominent figure in the Indonesian VALORANT scene. His competitive journey in VALORANT goes way back to First Strike and covers the last three VCT Indonesia seasons. Notably, he played a pivotal role in securing the VCT 2022 - APAC Last Chance Qualifier win, earning BOOM Esports a spot at VALORANT Champions Istanbul. Before Michael "SEVERiNE" Winata joined the team in 2023, blaZek1ng was the tactical mastermind behind BOOM Esports while still being a strong fragger.
Recently, blaZek1ng stood out as the second-best player for BOOM Esports during their victory at VCL Indonesia Split 2. This accomplishment earned them a chance to represent their region at VCT Ascension Pacific. However, in the Bangkok tournament, BOOM Esports finished in third-fourth place after a tough loss to the eventual champions, Bleed Esports.
With blaZek1ng on board, Global Esports is aiming high. In the 2023 VCT season, they finished in eighth place in the Pacific League and didn't manage to secure a single map win in the Last Chance Qualifier.
