The European VALORANT competitive scene continues to grow, and the power rankings shift with nearly every tournament. It looks like we have another Ignition Series coming our way to enjoy top tier VALORANT action from some of the best VALORANT players in the world. The next Ignition Series event will last a week-long, pitting four invited teams and two qualified VALORANT squads in the Allied Esports Odyssey competition, with a €15,000 prize pool on the line.

The teams invited are G2 Esports, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Liquid, and GIANTX. The two remaining teams will come through the tournament’s open qualifiers running through August 8th, 2020 and August 9th, 2020. All six teams will go up against each other in best-of-two matchups over the first five days of the tournament. Every win will grant the team three points, and a point if they drew. This format gives the ability to look back at head-to-head battles and determine the top four teams out of the six efficiently.

These top four teams will move on to play in the next round, kicking off on August 16th, 2020. They will battle it out in a double elimination, best-of-one, GSL format, followed by a best-of-three final match to crown the Allied Esports Odyssey Champion.

Allied Esports are keen in leveraging the VALORANT competitive scene in Europe and North America. The latter saw Riot Games’ tactical shooter get added to the HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas lineup, while Europe has already seen five VALORANT Legend Series tournaments organized by Allied Esports.

“We are honored to take part in Riot’s inaugural VALORANT series and are thrilled to introduce players and fans to an extended format that will create anticipation and high-pressure game play each day. The VALORANT community across our property network has been extremely engaged and we’re excited to watch six world-class teams perform at the highest level for their fans across the globe,” expressed Jud Hannigan, CEO of Allied Esports, on his excitement to hold such a tournament for the European region.
