100 Thieves to compete in Red Bull Home Ground Tokyo
Red Bull Home Ground is making its return to the off-season with another tournament. This time, the competition will take us to Tokyo, Japan, and it looks like we will see familiar faces. Last year’s champions, 100 Thieves, have been announced as the first team to participate in the tournament. Other teams will be announced in the upcoming days.
It is always nice to watch teams before the actual season kicks off and thanks to Red Bull Home Ground, we get a chance to watch some of the best teams in the world compete against each other. Even though most of these teams don’t look at their best shapes during the pre-season, it still gives us an idea of how well they would perform once VCT action starts.
Last year, the competition welcomed Team Liquid, KRÜ Esports, Cloud9, FUT Esports, FOKUS, 100 Thieves, Team Vitality, and Team Heretics. VCT 2022 OFF SEASON - Red Bull Home Ground 2022 took place in Manchester, United Kingdom, and after a close battle between some of the best teams of Americas and EMEA, 100 Thieves lifted the trophy. 100T took down Cloud9 with a clean sweep to take home a prize of $50,000.
100 Thieves will be there to defend their Red Bull Home Ground throne
Red Bull have announced that the reigning champions will be back to defend their throne. After winning the Home Ground trophy, 100 Thieves had a descending graphic throughout the season and failed to make it to the VCT 2023 Americas Playoffs. The organization won four games and lost five throughout the split. Now, they have another chance to make an impressive start to the season and boost their morales in Tokyo.
Red Bull Home Ground 2023 will take place in Tokyo, Japan, and the competition will take place between 3-5 November. For more information on tickets, teams, and schedule, you can visit the official website.
