ZachaREEE joins FaZe Clan’s VALORANT roster
Since VALORANT’s launch, we’ve gotten to see a few stars from games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, PUBG, and Overwatch make the switch to Riot Games’ tactical shooter. FaZe Clan already has Jason “jasonR" Ruchelski and Corey "corey" Nigra under their VALORANT roster, and they are now being joined by Zachary "ZachaREEE" Lombardo.
Zachary “ZachaREEE” Lombardo is a retired Overwatch professional player. He played for Renegades, Fusion University, and the Dallas Fuel, and represented the United States of America in the Overwatch World Cup 2018. ZachaREEE along with his teammates at the time were able to win the OWWC 2018 Los Angeles Qualifier, but finished 8th in the main phase of the competition. As for his tenure with Dallas Fuel, he finished fifth in both the Overwatch League 2019 Stage 2 Playoffs and Overwatch League 2020 May Melee.
His most successful time in Blizzard’s hero-based shooter came with Fusion University, picking up the BEAT Invitational Season 3 title and securing first place in back-to-back seasons of Overwatch Contenders 2018 for North America.
ZachaREEE served as a stand-in for FaZe Clan in the T1 x NSG Showdown, where they topped Group A, beating Prospects and Envy but failing to secure the win against Cloud9. His performance throughout the tournament was pretty solid, and we would have gotten the chance to see him again in the PAX Arena VALORANT Invitational if it wasn’t for the last minute withdrawal due to individual circumstances of members within the team.
