Will Chamber still dominate pro play?
The “French Sentinel” Chamber grabbed the attention of the professional players in no time after his release. With other agents being nerfed and his incredibly useful skillset, he was the most picked agent in VCT 2022 - Stage 2 - Masters Copenhagen with 101 selections out of 132 chances. Let’s dive deep into the stats!
101/132
There were 132 chances for teams to pick the agent, and Chamber was picked 101 times, topping every other agent and even 30 times more than the second most picked agent, Raze. It estimates 76.52% in general and if we look at it map-by-map, there are some cases where Chamber was the indispensable choice for the teams. Fracture is the most picked map of the tournament, alongside Bind, and Chamber was picked in every Fracture game for both sides of the competition. There has not been a single Fracture game without two Chambers shooting their own Operators against each other. The same scenario implies for Icebox, even though it was only picked 6 times, which makes 12 chances for teams to pick. There are some agents that go superbly in some maps and it would not be wrong to say that Icebox and Fracture are Chamber’s court for sure. The third house of Chamber was Haven. The map was picked 11 times and in 22 chances, the agent was picked 17 times, which makes 77.27%.
More, more, more stats
As mentioned above, Chamber had a 76.52% pick rate, and being the most picked agent may have brought some disadvantages in terms of stats, you would say. Since the day it was released, the French Sentinel has been one of the go-to picks, especially for the duelists or “DPS'' players. Despite being picked a lot, which may be bad for stats again, Chamber had the best K/D throughout the tournament with a solid 1.19. Thanks to his skill set, he also led the field of KPR with 0.8, alongside Raze and Jett. Besides, Chamber also had the best FBPR with an impressive 0.16, again alongside Raze. Chamber players won 33 clutches, second on the standings right after Fade, and also had a 227 ACS. Vandal was the most used weapon for the agent throughout the tournament.
f0rsaken, Sayf, Derke, yay, and the list goes on…
Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto held the best Chamber rating in the tournament with a solid 1.35 but the problem reading the stat is that the Indonesian player played 99 rounds in the tournament. Whereas Sayf had 140, Derke had 159, and yay played 393, as they reached the playoffs from the Group Stage Lower Bracket. If we just read the stat broadly, it would make sense to say that f0rsaken had the best Chamber in the tournament but it might be an injustice for the remaining players. Guild Esports’ Saif "Sayf" Jibraeel was the second on the list with a 1.28 rating in 140 rounds. He also had a 1.39 K/D, the best among the mentioned names. Sayf had the best rating throughout the Lower Bracket challenge with a 1.31 as he tried his best to carry his team to glory but eventually failed. Fnatic’s Nikita "Derke" Sirmitev's rating on the agent was 1.22 in 159 rounds. Lastly, the North American talent, Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker held a 1.14 rating in 393 rounds.
It is obvious that the agent is very useful if given to the right hand. Despite the upcoming nerfs, we might see even more interesting stats in the last stop of this year’s VALORANT season, İstanbul.
