The first match of VALORANT Champions, Vision Strikers and FULL SENSE battled against each other to get the first win of the tournament. The South Korean team looked much stronger as they started their journey with a 2-0 win over FULL SENSE. VS’ Kim "stax" Gu-taek had a wonderful performance in the opening game with Breach in his hands. He finished the first map with 22 kills, 262 ACS, and 156.5 ADR. On the other side, Chanawin "JohnOlsen" Nakchain tried his best to keep his team in the competition, but he couldn’t. Despite his first game performance, Yu "BuZz" Byung-chul stepped up for his team on Breeze to close the series in two games. He was on fire with 26 kills, 1.86 rating, and 366 ACS.
The second matchup of the day was between Crazy Raccoon and Team Vikings. The Brazilian representatives won the first game with a score of 13-8. Gustavo "Sacy" Rossi stepped up on the first map. He got 29 kills with a 1.92 rating to carry his team to victory. Not only in the first game but Sacy also played incredibly well in the second game. This time, Sacy played Breach and secured 19 kills, adding 1.44 rating and 217 ACS in the end which gave him the match MVP award.
The final and most anticipated match of the day was between Fnatic and Cloud9 Blue. Both sides won back-to-back rounds but in the end, Fnatic took the win, 13-11. Cloud9 Blue fought until the end but it wasn’t enough. Nikita "Derke" Sirmitev’s Jett was phenomenal almost every round. He secured 30 kills with 336 ACS and 2.14 K/D. Fnatic made a solid start to the second game with Martin "MAGNUM" Penkov’s clutch. However, Mitch "mitch" Semago’s responses were on point to keep C9 in the game. Just like the first map, it was a close match but Fnatic took the lead in the second half of action. On the other hand, Cloud9 Blue replied with dominance in the later stages of the second map. The North American representatives won the second map to force another game in the series. The last map of the day was Fracture. This time, Fnatic managed to keep their early lead and spread it to the whole game. After reaching the 12-point mark, Fnatic looked like they were seeking focus. Erick "Xeppaa" Bach played his heart out in the last game of the day to force overtime and give hope to his team but to no avail as Fnatic won both overtime rounds to take the victory.
