The first wave of bans in VALORANT
Some time ago we were talking about the security elements of VALORANT and the development of its unique anti-cheat system called Vanguard. It’s been only two days since the closed beta has launched and today we got to know about the first wave of bans in VALORANT.
All of this has started with an upload from a Twitter user, phantasy, of a suspicious player found in a match.
Later on, multiple videos have been found on YouTube in which the hacks makers were showcasing their brand new cheats designed especially for VALORANT. Even though the developers have confirmed multiple times that it will be impossible for the cheaters to access the game the reality became really harsh for them and for the growing community of their newest FPS title.
The hacks shown in YouTube videos were all very common for the shooter games. Wallhacks that reveal your opponents trough the walls, as well as aimbots that let you get a perfect headshot in every situation.
On the same day, the lead of Vanguard, Paul “Arkem” Chamberlain from Riot Games has commented on his social media, that the first wave of the bans is done.
It’s indeed a really sad moment for all of us. The most shocking part of this story is how fast the hacks makers were able to prepare a new product to ruin people’s experience of the game. It’s been only two days, the game is still in the closed beta phase and the competitive mode is still not available. Riot Games has a challenge now and need to fix the security and anti-cheat as soon as possible to provide to the players a cheaters-free play.
