SUMN FC sign with Fnatic
In one of the most anticipated moves of VALORANT so far, European unsigned team and First Strike finalists SUMN FC have joined Fnatic.
SUMN FC were started up by Jake "Boaster" Howlett and crew in early August of 2020, and originally featured Denis "dinkzj" Tkachev, though Kostas "tsack" Theodoropoulos would later join in his place. Over time, SUMN FC would slowly work their way up the charts in Europe, playing bigger and bigger events, until eventually, they became one of the hottest teams in Europe. They were pinned as a potential upset threat in European First Strike and didn’t disappoint, making it all the way to the finals with a big win over FunPlus Phoenix. They’d eventually lose in the finals to Team Heretics.
SUMN FC have become known as a team unafraid to take risks. James "Mistic" Orfila has become Europe’s premier Viper player, with Domagoj "Doma" Fancev being the team’s primary duelist. tsack plays in the sentinel spot, while Muhammad "Moe" Hariff plays Sova and sometimes a secondary duelist and IGL Boaster plays supportive agents, typically Breach.
SUMN FC’s dedication and continual improvement have paid off, with a signing to one of the biggest organizations in Europe. They’re certainly capable of representing a team with the prestige that Fnatic has, and they’ll look to keep improving and possibly grab Europe’s #1 spot as the VALORANT Champions Tour kicks off in the region on Thursday.
