Report: Soniqs to bring former Exo Clan roster to North America
According to a report from Australian esports news website Snowball Esports, American organization Susquehanna Soniqs are set to sign the Oceanic First Strike-winning roster, formerly under the banner of EXO Clan, and bring them over to North America to compete in North American Champions Tour events for 2021.
The full roster would consist of Iyengaran "iyen" Raju, Bob "Bob" Tran, Ethan "Crunchy" Laker, Kyran "dizzyLife" Crombie, and Chris "pl1xx" Li. The squad is the most decorated in Oceania, placing second in the region’s first Ignition Series event, the ORDER Oceanic Open, winning the next, Rise of Valour - Finals, and taking their biggest win at the First Strike Oceania Regional Final as well. They were released by Exo Clan at the end of December, and have stated their hope of competing abroad multiple times previously.
As far as roles go, dizzyLife should be taking his Jett, pl1xx other duelists such as Raze or Reyna, Crunchy Omen, Bob Sova, and lyeN Cypher. pl1xx, dizzyLife, and Crunchy are all among the best statistical players from Oceania, with dizzyLife leading the entire region in Average Combat Score. The move would also mark one of the first times we can truly see how regions stack up against each other.
The big move is a risk on Soniqs part, but one worth taking given Exo Clan’s previous success. Where do you think the roster will place in North America? Can they compete with teams like 100 Thieves and Sentinels, or will we see them more at the Complexity-Pittsburgh Knights level? Let us know your thoughts!
Susquehanna Soniqs’ reported roster is:
Iyengaran “lyeN” Raju Bob “Bob” Tran Ethan “Crunchy” Laker Kyran “dizzyLife” Crombie Chris “pl1xx” Li
