VCT 2023 - LOCK//IN has finally concluded. After weeks of gruelling single-elimination bracket that saw some of fan-favorite teams bow out in the first round of play, it was Fnatic that survived the test of the "one mistake and you're out" event. VCT LOCK//IN was the first international VCT event of 2023 and so far, despite the single-elim bracket, was one of the most intense and best VALORANT tournaments we've witnessed to date. The Grand Finale in itself was a show of the highest level of VALORANT play. If VCT 2023 can serve us high-octane events such as these, we're in for a spectacular competitive season.

The LOUD vs. Fnatic Grand Finale in Sao Paulo was a masterclass showdown that beat viewership records. Despite LOUD coming close to a reverse sweep against Fnatic in the best-of-five final, Fnatic prevailed and was the team to lift the trophy on the stage in Sao Paulo, Brazil. And on that team, one man stood out in particular. Leo "Leo" Jannesson, despite being the newest addition to the team alongside Timofey "Chronicle" Khromov and Maks "kamyk" Rychlewski, was as consistent as they come. And for that indomitable consistency and absolutely incredible ice-cold performance in Brazil, Leo is awarded with THESPIKE.GG MVP trophy. Leo will receive a real, physical trophy, just as previous winners of the award—Andrey "Shao" Kiprsky and Bryan "pANcada" Luna.

At only 19-years-old, Leo has been an absolute joy to watch. A composed mannerism combined with deadly accuracy led to a stellar performance from the young superstar. And with Leo in his ranks, Jake "Boaster" Howlett has finally laid his hands on a much sought after trophy.

At VCT LOCK//IN and over the course of 307 rounds played, Leo attained a Rating of 1.19, an Average Combat Score of 225, an Average Damage per Round of 143.2, Kills Assists Survived Traded rating of 83%, and a Headshot percentage of 19%. And although all extremely impressive stats, Leo managed to maintain an unusually high Kill/Death ratio at an impressive 1.41. Overall, a performance nothing short of greatness.

Leo's performance at VCT LOCK//IN was simply mesmerizing.

Despite boasting such high statistics across the board, Leo played one Sentinel and two Initiator Agents for Fnatic at VCT LOCK//IN. While it is often the case that Duelist players attain the high kill statistics and receive much of the spotlight, it is not the case this time. While Leo's teammate, Nikita "Derke" Sirmitev, had a fantastic tournament while wielding Jett and Raze, Leo found slightly more impact utilizing the trio of Sage, Sova, and Fade.

A huge congratulations to Leo for receiving THESPIKE.GG award as well as to Fnatic for lifting the VCT LOCK//IN trophy in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
