Flowers released from Charlotte Phoenix VALORANT team
A number of organizations are already entering the VALORANT esports scene, with G2 Esports most recently revealing the first member of their roster, Oscar “Mixwell” Cañellas Coloch. One of those teams is Charlotte Phoenix, who announced their full VALORANT squad on May 16th, 2020, featuring Marco “Flowers” Sotelo, Adam “Spirit” Wills, Corey “ChurmZ” Koch, Justin “Ksiaze” Goszczynski, William “Sh0ts” Griffith, with Justin “Metapusher” Wilkes as a coach. Well, it is unfortunate to report that one of them has already been released by the organization.
Charlotte Phoenix announced the release of their support player, Marco “Flowers” Sotelo, through their official Twitter. However, there was no explanation as to why they are parting ways so early into their agreement, a little less than a month after recruiting him. There was a short statement from Charlotte Phoenix’s VALORANT coach wishing him good luck on future endeavors, and admitting his potential to improve.
"Flowers is a great person with tons of potential. I'm confident he will find success wherever the future takes him," commented Justin “Metapusher” Wilkes on Flowers’ departure.
The organization’s roster didn’t have much time to prove themselves, as they only participated in the first iteration of the CLG Blitz Cup, where they got knocked out from the first round. In addition to that, Flowers didn’t have many achievements to list during his VALORANT career so far, only reaching third in the Road to MomoConline Qualifier tournament with the team.
Charlotte Phoenix will participate in the upcoming Pulse Invitational on July 10th, 2020, so we will definitely hear more news from the team in the upcoming period.
Who do you think will replace him in Charlotte Phoenix’s VALORANT roster?
Current Charlotte Phoenix roster consists of:
Adam “Spirit” Wills Corey “ChurmZ” Koch Justin “Ksiaze” Goszczynski William “Sh0ts” Griffith
Justin “Metapusher” Wilkes (Coach)
