Cloud9 officially part ways with Shinobi
After failing to qualify for the First Strike North America Regional Final, there was no doubt we were going to see Cloud9 make some changes to their roster, and indeed they have. The organization has officially revealed they are parting ways with Josh "shinobi" Abastado. The American was the fourth member revealed of their squad during its building phase back in August.
Since then, shinobi has delivered several outstanding performances with Cloud9 Blue. During his tenure with the North American organization, he won the EsportsDoug x eUnited Charity Clash, came 2nd in each of the Immortals First Light , the Pulse Invitational, and the PAX Arena VALORANT Invitational.
After placing 1st in the First Strike North America - NSG Tournament - Open Qualifier, they went into the First Strike North America - NSG Tournament - Closed Qualifier as strong favorites but failed to qualify to the Regional Final following their loss to Renegades in the Quarter Finals. They tried again to qualify for the event through First Strike North America - UMG Closed Qualifier but were once again shut down in the same stage of the prior tournament but by the hands of T1 this time around.
Across the 133 games representing Cloud9 Blue, shinobi averaged 160 ACS, with 107 ADR, 0.55 KPR, and 0.81 K/D. He played Omen and Sova the most during his career so far, registering 62 and 50 matches on each agent respectively.
It is definitely going to be interesting to see where he goes next and who will fill his spot. Let us know your thoughts and predictions in the comments section below!
The current Cloud9 Blue roster consists of: Tyson "TenZ" Ngo Mitch "mitch" Semago Skyler "Relyks" Weaver Daniel "vice" Kim
