bonk add goffe to complete their roster
Guild Esports is without a doubt one of the strongest teams in Europe right now. What’s more interesting about this squad is not only how dominant and skilled they are but also a fact, that even after the weeks of dominance and placing top in most of the tournaments they participated in, they still remain without an organization.
In the middle of September around the time of adding former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player, William "draken" Sundin, to the team, when interviewed by THESPIKE.GG Yacine "Yacine" Laghmari and asked about the potential fifth player, he responded: “We have a beast, you will just have to wait and see. Jokes aside, we are trying out a really good guy at the moment. We are trying to fit him within the team, and once he does, everything is going to be better than before I hope!”.
While he hyped up the unnamed fifth member, the identity of the final member was a mystery until now, the squad can be now proud of their all Swedish roster which is rounded out by also former CS:GO individual, Filip "goffe" Gauffin.
The 22 years old Swede has been an active player since 2015. However, mostly domestically on the tier 2-3 stage, rather than big events. During his career, he was associated with a Spanish organization Wizards Esports Club twice, first in 2016, and then again in 2018. He was usually seen with a mixed group of players, participating in a variety of qualifiers and online tournaments. He has won multiple weekly tournaments called King of Nordics but also DreamHack Winter 2017: BYOC as a part of Kalashnikov 47. Most recently, in 2019, he played for Monarchs (currently 9INE) where he won Dustin Expo Open and placed 3rd-4th in the European ESEA Season 31: Main Division.
When it comes to his VALORANT career, he was not seen competing often. In May 2020 he took part in a few online events organized by fragbite.se in the Nordic region under the name KEKWLUL but didn’t manage to pull off great results, finishing Nordic Edition in the semifinals, and Swedish edition in the quarterfinals. He also played for teams such as Roddare 2 in WePlay! Invitational and Uruguay 3 where we could see him competing alongside draken.
The members of bonk often highlighted how important it is for them to stay together as a team, and how focused they are on accepting an offer which will benefit them as an entire squad and not only individuals. “We have so much potential becoming the absolute best of the best, we just gotta stick together and grind it out!,” said Yacine in an interview. The question remains, however, which European organization will take on board the team that currently holds the 3rd position in THESPIKE.GG’s European Ranking. With the announcement of the First Strike, it would be great to see this powerful team finally finding a home for themselves which they can proudly represent.
Bonk’s roster consists of:
Malkolm “bonkar” Rench Yacine “Yacine” Laghmari Leo “ziz” Jannesson William “draken” Sundin Filip “goffe” Gauffin
